Don’t know about you but I have trouble asking for help especially since I took over this business with there being so much to learn and know to be successful.  I don’t want people to think I’m dumb and for the most part I’m still not sure what sort of help to ask for so I’ve just been doing what I can.  But that hasn’t been working out very well for me so far to bring in more income.  It has been mostly a hit and miss thing and that isn’t good at all.

I do get some input, suggestions from other IM’ers, which is great and truly appreciated but I just don’t know how to keep it going.  Or which skill is important for me to be working on right now, sometimes I think I’m trying to do too many things at one time, other times I don’t seem to do enough.

I’m still having trouble engaging my subscribers, even when I send them a “free gift” not many take it or I get a lot of unsubscribed.  I’m feeling more desperate now than when Barry first died.   It has been over a year and I should be much better at this or at least my understanding should be better but I don’t feel it is.  I’ve had people tell me I’ve come a long way since March 2009 and yes I have in some respects but not in others.  Some days I just stare at my computer not knowing where or what to do, I’m sure some of you felt the same way when you first started, at least I hope this feeling isn’t just mine.

I’m not looking to make millions although that would be nice but I just want to be able to pay my bills and have some left over instead of struggling to pay my bills.  I’m not mad at Barry for dying so suddenly anymore but I am still a bit disappointed that he didn’t make sure I knew what I needed to to continuing running our business.

Son found a new place to live so he will start moving out on Tues.

My son bought my a new hard drive for my PC since that one only had 80 gb, yea I know but when it was bought years ago it wasn’t  going to be use just for business.  Now that things have changed, I need more space so he bought me a 500 GB, which is great.

Once I put the new drive in and booted up my PC and installed my windows xp, things seemed to be going well.  I started doing the Windows updates and after the first set of the updates and the reboot, my monitor was totally messed up.  So I rebooted again, but it didn’t fix it.  I went and got my disk that came with my monitor, no download/install files on it, it just had the manual on it.  So I found it on the their website but my computer would not unzip it. 

 I made sure to add the pc back to “My Network Places”, went to my laptop, downloaded and unzipped the files the put a copy in My Network Places and I got my monitor back.

 I also did a back up of my old hard drive but after I did the restore, none of the files seemed to show up even though I said to put them in their original place.  Well so I started doing them one folder at a time, thought that would make it easier on the computer and in the report it gave after it was done, I saw that yes they were put in their original place, Windows just decided to take the long way there.  When I check the files using the long way, everything was there.  By this time I was getting tired but I didn’t go to bed because I wanted to get this done.

But late yesterday after getting all the updates and downloads done I realized that my “Program Files” were not included in the backup even though “C” drive was clicked so today I will reconnect my old hard drive and and check it for anything else I or the back up might have missed, then I wipe it out.

 This month I also did 3 adswaps and have 1 more set for the 31st.  That is the most I’ve done so far.  I think that I need to start working on a new squeeze page so that one doesn’t get used too much.

Because tomorrow I will technically I will be a year older I’ve put together a little sale that I hope will benefit both you and me.  I remember Barry would do these special sales on birthdays and anniversary’s so I thought I would try it.

I’ve been feeling pretty good about things lately.  I did my first adswap today, the 16th and it seemed to go ok.  I’m still struggling money wise but I’m getting more comfortable every day with my business and I have found some pretty great guys in the Skype channel I go to, they have been both supportive and helpful and I know most of that I have Barry’s kindness, helpfulness and good character to thank.  I do believe that if he wasn’t the sort of person he was I would not be getting as much help and encouragement that I’ve been receiving since his sudden death.

3.  Determination
The third quality you’ll need is determination.  If you want to make it in the world of affiliate marketing, you must possess this to push yourself forward.  The ability to push yourself to greater heights will determine what type of future you have.

4.  Discipline
The fourth quality is self discipline.  If you teach yourself to work everyday with all of your heart and soul, you’ll be that much closer to reaching your goals and making your dreams come true.

5.  Optimism
The last quality you must have is optimism.  Bad attitudes should never discourage an affiliate marketer from pursuing their dreams in order to make life better for themselves or anyone around them.

The attitude you have towards the business should always be good, because you’ll have to realize that you’re the captain of your ship and your the one steering it towards destiny.

If you put the above tips to good use, you’ll go farther than you ever thought possible in the world of affiliate marketing.  You’ll need these qualities to succeed, as affiliate marketing can be a cutting edge career.  With the above qualities, you’ll do just fine in the industry.

Well it has been a busy week, so busy that I wasn’t able to email my lists as much as I wanted to.  I’ve been doing some serious backups of my computers, now that I own 4, 2 pc’s & 2 laptops.  I haven’t really even looked at Barry’s PC yet except to keep the updates going.  I do back up my laptop pretty regular since it is the one I work from the most.  It takes a lot of time to “move” things from one backup drive to the bigger backup drive so that is still in the process.

Today I was able to send a mailing and not just an affiliate product. I edited the sales letter to a product I have rights to, made sure everything worked and was right.  But I missed something and a new friend of mine that is on my lists, skyped me and told me about it, so I fixed it.   Here it is if you would like to take a look at it. http://bit.ly/zHVNn

Then I took a short break, got something to eat and started working on my Squeeze page and OTO for it.  I had these done I thought but I had set up the autoresponder wrong and had to start that over.  But I got it and all the pages to it finally done and tested.  Now I just need to write the swipe email, but not tonight, I will do that tomorrow.

It will be nice to finally be ready to contribute in the Adswaps Channel in Skype and I hope it will work out good for both me and the person I adswap with.

Looks like I will be loosing the house because they will be starting foreclosure proceedings in a few days so everything that we worked towards and for will be gone.  I might even have to find new homes for my dogs since it is hard to find rentals that accept pets nowadays. 

I’m not sure how I will be able to look for a new place to live without a car and still not knowing my way around this town.  Barry was born in this town and for a time he drove airport shuttles and city buses so he knew his way around and where streets were located but I only go to certain places like grocery stores so I’m only familiar with how to get there.  Maybe in the long run it will be better to let the house go but this is all very scary to me especially since I’m having to deal with this alone.

I don’t know why my ebook that I wrote did not sell better since it was original and different but maybe people just don’t want to think about death, which I understand, but look at my situation that I’m in now because Barry didn’t want to think of him dying?  I’ve had a few suggestions that I might want to think of getting into this niche about loosing a spouse but do I really want to be associated with death and all that comes it with it?  I haven’t even mourned his death yet because I’ve been trying to learn this IM business and all that comes with it, which let me tell you it is alot.  Even though some have said I’ve caught on quickly, I don’t think I have because there are so many parts of this that still frustrate me.

Since joining jvme.com and starting to use Skype this past month has really boosted my education.  I’ve been able to meet some fellow marketers that knew Barry and some that had heard of him but know met him online or of his sudden death.  But no matter what connection they had with Barry, they have been kind, helpful and patent with me and my lack of knowledge.

I’ve been learning how to set up list with one of my autoresponders.  I’ve also started to watch the videos I have about Aweber and those gave me more confidence using setting up lists in Aweber.

Last night I wasn’t tired so I decided to try to put some of my new “skills” into action.  So I found a product that I had giveaway rights to, edited the sales page, tested the pages to make sure they worked and looked properly, then uploaded them to my server and set up a new list on Aweber.

There was a few qlitches, as there usually is when doing something new but I finally got it right and set my mailing.   Boy that felt really good, like maybe I will get this after all.

Since I felt like I was on a roll, I found a product that I have resell rights to and did all the steps I previous did for the giveaway, except I didn’t make a new list for that. Of course by this time, I was getting a little tired and frustrated because I just couldn’t get things right.  But there is always someone close by on skype willing to help me and not think I’m stupid or dumb for not remembering or knowing how to do certain things.

This week I’ve spent a lot of time reading ebooks on cultivating a list and how to interact with them, since this is something important and I really need to learn this before I can improve my business. 

I’ve also been learning how to use Skype and talking with other marketers that knew Barry and getting tips from them.

AllForMartha.com is coming along slowly but it will happen.  I guess I needed to reach out sooner but I’m basically a shy person and since I don’t know much about Internet Marketing, I didn’t know who or what to ask.  But if I can keep from feeling overwhelmed by all this, I think I will do ok.  I’m basically a Newbie with an established business and now I need to find a way to keep this going.  Barry worked too hard to just let it go.

Jvme.com has been a good place for me to have joined.  I’m getting to know some of the marketers and they are getting to know me also.  Barry’s name is now just a stepping stone, now I’ve got to get my name and face out there and that is hard for me to do, but I am trying.
